How to Change Bank Account for Receiving LPG Subsidy

If you have recently changed your bank account or looking to get it changed, there are few simple methods you can follow to continue receiving your LPG subsidy. There are various occasions when an individual changes his/her bank account, however, this shouldn't stop you from receiving your subsidy. Under the LPG's DBTL (PAHAL) facility, you can shift PAHAL to a new bank account by using an easy online procedure. The following two methods can be used for changing the bank account:
Process – 1

Linking Aadhaar to New Bank Account

The easiest method of changing the bank account is by using the Aadhaar. You can contact your new bank directly or follow the bank's online procedures to complete the Aadhaar linking. The National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI is responsible for facilitating the cash transfer of LPG subsidy to your bank account) considers only the latest bank account that has been linked to Aadhaar. The NPCI will cancel the previous bank account and start sending subsidy to your new account. Once you have initiated the linking of your Aadhaar to the new bank account, it will take around two weeks for the changes to reflect.
If you do not have the Aadhaar, you are still eligible for receiving the LPG subsidy by using the 17 digits LPG customer ID.
Process – 2

Linking LPG Customer ID to New Bank Account

The Oil Merchant Companies (OMC) such as Bharat Gas, Indane and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited provide an online facility to obtain the 17 digits LPG customer ID. If you have the ID already, you can visit your bank's website to connect your LPG connection. If you don't have the ID, you can visit your distributor's website or contact them directly for the 17 digits customer ID. Once you have the LPG customer ID, you can log in to your bank's internet banking services to complete the LPG registration procedure.
The NPCI will send you a confirmation after a week or two. After the confirmation, your LPG customer ID will appear in your bank as well as LPG distributors website. Following the changes, your LPG subsidy will start coming into your new bank account.
